Lu Yuan Zhao was violently thrown, crashing through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the banquet hall. The soothing music abruptly stopped.
The hall erupted in a chorus of terrified screams.
“Ahhhh!!”
“Help, what’s happening!?”
“My God, what is that outside? General Bai Xingluo!?”
“Your Highness, are you alright?”
Lu Yuan Zhao coughed up blood. He wished to struggle to his feet, but the pain felt as if his internal organs had shattered, forcing him to remain in agonizing prostration on the ground.
“Quick, help me…”
However, the insects present froze, completely entranced by the cold, gleaming eyes beneath the dark night.
Their instinct for self-preservation left them paralyzed with fear.
Lu Yuan Zhao gritted his teeth in anger, awkwardly crawling backward while shouting, “Bai Xingluo! Are you insane!? If you hurt me, I won’t let you off!”
Bai Xingluo seemed indifferent to his words, taking slow strides closer to him, like a hellish reaper wielding a scythe, exuding a foreboding aura.
“Who allowed you, this scum, to harm my lord?”
A powerful mental force gripped Lu Yuan Zhao, invading his mental sea.
With every step Bai Xingluo took, the invisible hand tightened its grip.
The seemingly solid core of his mental energy cracked with a noise that defied reality, spreading spiderweb-like fissures in all directions.
With a resounding pop, it shattered into countless fragments.
“Ah!!!”
Lu Yuan Zhao’s scream reverberated through the hall, leaving his entourage pale with shock.
One of the noble insects shouted, “Bai Xingluo! What have you done to His Highness!? You’re finished, the Empire will sentence you to death!”
“Ha, ha, ha, is that so?”
The laughter was unnervingly chilling as Bai Xingluo turned, his previously deep eyes now entirely engulfed in scarlet.
“Then let’s see who can stop me.”
As Bai Xingluo’s words hung in the air, all the insects present felt the pressure of an even stronger mental force.
They trembled uncontrollably, their legs weakened, collapsing under the suffocating weight of the overwhelming aura, their mental energy crumpled like thin paper, utterly crushed.
Even the usually untouchable high-ranking insects had no power to resist.
This was a fear they had never experienced before, a terror that dug deep into their souls.
Bai Xingluo’s outburst of mental energy was complete, as if a valve had been opened, unleashing an indiscriminate attack from an S-class mental force, a one-sided slaughter and torture.
Insects standing at a distance fainted from just a hint of the shockwave.
Closer ones, unaware of the danger, attempted to secretly release their own mental energy in a bid to calm Bai Xingluo.
However, as soon as they unleashed their power, it became clear.
Bai Xingluo’s overwhelming mental force completely overpowered their weak attempts at soothing him.
His scarlet eyes displayed only violence and indifference.
The mental attacks crashed against them like waves against a sturdy wall.
They were flung back violently, their mental cores fracturing in varying degrees.
Damage to a mental core was irreversible.
Their positions of power relied heavily on this natural advantage; now reduced to pleading at Bai Xingluo’s feet, these once exalted noble insects were begging in desperation.
“General, please spare us.”
“It was Lu Yuan Zhao who offended you; it has nothing to do with us, we beg you!”
But all Bai Xingluo could feel was a thirst for slaughter and icy indifference.
The noble insects trembled in despair.
They couldn’t withstand this level of torment long enough for rescue to arrive.
Who among the military females arriving could possibly be stronger than him?
None.
In the face of absolute power, all struggles were both pitiful and futile.
The only one undisturbed was Tong Sui. He had regained some of his strength, leaning against the wall as he stepped through the shards of glass into the banquet hall.
The scene before him was shocking.
Aside from himself and Bai Xingluo, the other insects were either kneeling or lying down, their faces twisted in pain.
Things had spiraled entirely out of control.
Tong Sui hesitantly called out, “…Luoluo.”
Bai Xingluo paused for a moment, seemingly reacting to his voice, but quickly succumbed again to the tumult of pain and chaos.
“Don’t go near him, Lord Tong Sui! He’s gone mad and will harm you!”
“Run, my lord!”
The female insects, seeing Tong Sui approach, felt an overwhelming anxiety, yet they were too paralyzed to even move a finger.
They could only silently pray for his safe escape.
But Tong Sui did not heed their warnings and insisted on moving forward.
This was too chaotic.
So many A-class insects had failed to calm Bai Xingluo, even sustaining serious injuries and shattering their mental cores; how could a D-class insect possibly pacify an S-class military female gone rogue?!
They couldn’t bear to imagine the horrific scenes that might unfold next.
Although fear lurked in Tong Sui’s heart, it was overshadowed by other emotions.
He quietly approached Bai Xingluo’s side, extending his cool fingertips to gently touch the back of his hand.
The warmth radiating from Bai Xingluo felt scorching, like a piece of red-hot meteorite.
“Luoluo.”
Bai Xingluo knelt on the ground, clutching his head in agony, his teeth grinding ominously as if wanting to chew someone to pieces.
Tong Sui could only imagine how painful it was for him; a powerful energy rampaged within his body, and he desperately needed an outlet for his release.
Speaking in the softest voice he could muster, Tong Sui urged, “Luoluo, take a deep breath, follow my lead—inhale, exhale—”
